Home Improvements and Sick Days

We were supposed to go to graduation last night. One of our best friend's oldest daughter was graduating from High School. I ended up taking the girls alone because Andy got a load of hotmix delivered to the house. Needless to say, I didn't stay very long at the graduation. Trying to handle a 3 year old AND a 1 1/2 year old and pay attention didn't last very long. I am sure that all the people around us were glad to see us leave. Especially the lady that Kayla kept hitting in the arm sitting in front of us. (Hey, if it was bothering her that bad, she could have moved her arm. )

So, what did my husband do while I was wrangling the girls? Just looky here. We have another parcial part of our driveway. One of these days, he will get the whole drive finished.

He even took some down to the tank and made a boat launch ramp. Yeah! That makes it a lot easier getting the pedal boat in and out of the water. Plus, we will not get our feet dirty in the process.

So that is the home improvement part of the post....On to the sick days part.

Got home last night and Kayla was running a temp. Woke up this morning, still running a temp. Spent most of the day, running a temp. It didn't help her that I wasn't giving her enough of the medicine. After fighting the fever all day, I finally callled the doctor. I was only giving her half of the dose that she needed. So, when it came time for more, the full dose helped. Poor baby. The fever finally broke. Keeli has been going crazy all day because we have been stuck inside. Once Kayla started feeling better, she wanted to play. These pictures are the result of that.

The week is over. Yeah! I made it! We were supposed to go the the swimming pool yesterday but we didn't make it. We got out there and it was closed. We will have to wait one more week. Keeli was really disappointed. She had huge tears coming down her cheeks because she had been so excited. She mumbled something about not telling Daddy because he was excited too! She has such a tender heart.

So instead of the pool, I called a friend and borrowed her water slide. She was getting ready to go out of town for the weekend. So I brought her boy home with us and we played all day. This is a picture of Kayla when she finally crashed. Kayla didn't like the water slide or the slip and slide but she does like sitting in the pool playing with her tea set. I don't know how much of that water she drank. But she was having a good time.

I myself played on the slip and slide. I had to show the kids how it was done of course. I cannot tell you how sore I am today. I found muscles that I didn't know that I had. But, now the kids no what to do! Ha!
It was a good time had by all. I can't tell you how blessed that I feel to have such a wonderful life. My children are happy and healthy. I am married to a wonderful husband who is totally in love with our kids. Life may not be like we all planned it to be, but God always has a plan. And I thank him daily for his plan for me.

Second Day of "Summer"

It is only the second day of Keeli's official "summer" and already I am so tired. When does she go back to school? Really, it hasn't been that bad.

It is amazing how much Keeli has changed since last summer. She waited until the end of summer to really start enjoying the pool. She wouldn't play with her best friends on their water slide because she was scared. She was the one always in your way at the bottom of the slide playing in the shallow pool. But not this summer, she can hang with the best of them now. We went to my brother's house last weekend and the kids were playing in the water. They have one of those slides. Keeli was a little intimidated at first but she quickly got over that once she saw how much fun it was.

Now it is Kayla who doesn't like the water. I guess it is going to take some getting used to for her too!

My MOPS group is meeting tomorrow at the pool for a playdate. I can't wait to see how the girls react. I am sure that Keeli is going to be a little fish. Kayla will probably be stuck to my side. I remember going to the pool last year. Kayla was learning to walk. I would put her walker in the kiddie pool and she would have a ball. No walker this year though! I am not sure how much of a ball she will have. But, she may surprise me with all of the other kiddos there. So, we will see.....

Summer is Here!

Well, it has been a long time since I posted last. Lots of things have changed. I can't get over how Kayla has changed. It just seems that she is blossomming before our eyes. That big smile just melts my heart. And her feet are growing like crazy! She went from a size 5 1/2 to a 7 in less that a month! I sure hope that she doesn't have big feet like her daddy. I hear that it is hard to buy cute shoes! :)

Keeli is out of CDC for the summer now. I received her "yearbook" this week. They take measurements at the beginning of the year and at the end to see how they have grown. She has grown 2 1/4 inches in the last 9 months and gained 3 pounds. She still is only a few pounds heavier that Kayla. Keeli is starting to teach Kayla some bad habits. You know the whole "Thats mine!" and "No! Kayla!" Sometimes she makes Kayla really man and Kayla line drives her. Keeli ends up on the floor. Keeli will learn one day.

I am really looking forward to summer this year. Both girls are now old enough to swim and have fun in the water this year. We bought a paddle boat for the tank a few weeks ago. Keeli loves to go out in it. Kayla still hasn't made up her mind if she likes it. I don't think that she likes wearing her life jacket. I remember when Keeli was the same way. Hopefully she will get used to it.

We have a new addition to our family. We had a litter of kittens that I gave to a friend of mine when they were weaned. This little guy didn't do very well at her house so I brought him back home and nursed him back to health. He is now doing really well. The girls reallylove him. Keeli keeps changing his name. First if was Little Sherry ( after a friend of mine that Keeli just loves). Then I told her the it was a boy and she has named it Spike, Spice, and Oliver. Now she just calls him Kitty. So, I guess that will be his name until she comes up with something for certain.

Andy and I are doing really well. We are enjoying the girls every day. They are changing so fast. We are so very thankful for what the Lord has given us. We cherish them everyday. They say and do some of the funniest things.
